Dev East is a one day software development conference on the 16th March 2018, hosted at Ipswich Town Football Club.

We’re confident we can attract 250 software developers from Ipswich, Norwich and surrounding areas.

Whilst it is our first year we have a fabulous team with experience running community groups and a popular conference in Norfolk.

We’re organising this event as we feel it is really important to offer learning, networking, promote excellence and community in the East of England.

Who is speaking at the event?

We want to bring some great names to Ipswich but also allow local talent to deliver great content.

Speakers already on the bill include Tom Barber founder of Spicule who’s worked with NASA JPL, and Rob Blackwell from the British Antarctic Survey.

We’re working with a number of big names in the industry, and local experts to cover an interesting and diverse set of interests.

Who are we?

We are a small group of developers, donating our free time and resources to bring this event together.

We’re led by:

Emily Crittenden, a project manager with experience in organising a software development conference in Norwich for several consecutive years

Richard Astbury, a software consultant and Microsoft MVP based in Ipswich, experienced speaker at a number of top UK tech conferences.

We’re joined with a wider team of people who are donating their time, advice and effort to help make the conference a success.

Where does the money go?

We are spending it on venue, speaker travel, tea, coffee & lunch for all attendees. Anything left over will be divided by the non-funded community partner organisations SyncIpswich, Suffolk Developers, Digital East. That is of course assuming that there is any as with any event of this scale the risk is that we make a loss so your support and participation our vital to the success of a community event such as these – without you we simply couldn’t do it!
